REALLY, 60 seconds is too long of a time for the BEST...

    THE POINT?

You can do all that is possible...and if the "BAD GUY" wants your "STUFF"...you can't prevent it.

To answer Breeze's question, we are in NH.

I am just looking to protect myself and my children should something happen to him. We are both extremely afraid to buy ahouse and have something happen to his kidneys. Paying for a burial does not worry me.

His kidneys are dormant, he hasn't had a problem since 98, but let me tell you 98 was one hell of a year.

He hasn't spoke to his father in YEARS, the man is bottom feeding scum. He files BK every 10 years, racks up bills and does it again. When my daughter was born he came to see her in the NICU, and that was the last time we've seen him, she's 3 now.

His mother was not too financially responsible, and didn't even carry life insurance for herself, HER mother took care of everything.

Basically we want to cover our ass, should he fall victim to this rediculous disease.

We both work together at the same place. Our employer offers NO benefits, not even health insurance. In all honesty we won't switch jobs til our children are both in school full days, which will be another 3 years. Day cares are outrageous here, and hubby tried working 3rd shift and that's when he had all the kidney problems. our jobs are VERY lax, which is good for him, to much of anything will bring us back to 98, NO THANKS!

We were thinking of buying health insurance, but it doesn't make sense, right now. (the kids ARE covered though), the most our combined medical bills have ever been for a year were last year $3700, we make payments to the hospital at $50 a month. Health insurance (we are both smokers) will be $500 a month. *IF* something seriously go wrong he will get SSI, and medicare (under 65 for kindey failure)

I appreciate everyones help, I don't want to lie on any app's just for it to come back and haunt me. I just want to make sure when he's gone the kids will have a roof over their heads. Although, when DH's mom passed away, he was 20, hopefully when my kids are 20 they won't be living with me...lol.

    Happy Mothers Day all!

Any company that issues $100k policy without a medical is asking for it, IMO. I can't think of any that would do that. They will check MIB and they will do at least a urinalysis, most likely a regular exam.

My suggestion - do it online, not in person with a live agent. I personally would never risk my license for the commissions on something like this. The outcome could be devastating to the agent.

Scenario: The person dies within the two year contestible period, the claim is denied, the beneficiary sues the agent for the death benefit, saying "she told me to lie."

E&O doesn't pay for intentional acts. I have to pay the money, and I lose my license and my source of income. If the company chooses they can prosecute. No way.

...SO THEY CAN "SCAM" OUT OF PAYING IF A PERSON DIES IN THE FIRST TWO YEARS????

Even if the person has NO prior knowledge of a "death sentence" pre-existing condition?????

NO, George, only if the person already knew.

    Breeze, anyone that knows...

Would it be do-able with a terminal diagnosis to obtain multiple smaller policies and avoid most of the medical prodding?

Yes. Most companies, under 50,000, all they do is a saliva swipe - but they still will check MIB. That's the problem. They check MIB for a stupid $5,000 policy.

Actually, the "spit test" will show a LOT more than HIV, it will show if you are a smoker,if you have liver or kidney problems, drugs, (legal or otherwise), and if an agent decides to "mix up" the tests, it also shows the sex of the spitter. It is called a "spit" test, but is actually a swab of tissue from the mouth.
