Just got the results of my husband's CHOD dispute with EQ, they have changed his dob to 1919!!!

I called him at work and told him that if he was feeling a little tired it is probably because he is three months older than my mother, and should be collecting about 20 years of past ss benefits!!!!

Breeze- didn't this happen to you also? Did you figure out how to fix it?

It states in his dispute letter that there is another person with the same name, please be sure my information is not being confused with his.

Can I use this somehow - Hey EQ, you obviously think I am someone else because you changed my dob, how can I be sure that some of the info you have placed on my report doesn't belong to the person you think I am???

    Help, please!!!!

Katie, How long have you known about your advanced age? Any idea how to fix it?

    ROFLMAO!!!

I had to fax them my driver's license. They didn't think I really knew how old I was. Understandable, I guess, with my advanced age. I couldn't seem to convince them that I was the one who had filled out that DOB section of the driver's license application.

However, they kindly now include my driver's license number with my credit report. You send anything, it will show up :)

My Mom was the most upset - I guess it was a difficult experience for her. ;)

Perhaps an affidavit from someone who was there when you were born?? Of course, then you would run the chance that their name would show up on your credit report, hehe.

Or you could just leave it that way, point it out to creditors, and ask them why they use idiots with malfunctioning computers for something as important as a credit report....

Maybe they will go high-tech soon and add your picture to your report...

Our dl #'s are on all our reports! Don't know how they got there.

What about smudging your DL number and address before sending it to the CRA's? They can't report what they can't see.

Someone there when he was born, hmmm that would be my mother-in-law...since eq treats me better, I'm thinking no...

This last idea is pretty interesting!! :) Especially if I brought in crrr letters showing that I asked to have it corrected, and they have his dl#, which should give them a way to find out his dob.

Do you think someone actually reported these dates, or is it just a stupid error by a clerk? But, why would they be typing in his dob when it is already on the report?

    Thanks for the ideas, Breeze!

Maybe he should just show up there. He looks older than he is, but not THAT old!!!

But...if he showed up at the cra, how would he prove he is himself, with a dl whose number matches their info, but a dob, that does not. Obviously the license must be incorrect...

For about 4 years I left some wrong info on my credit report, just for the fun of pointing it out to creditors - that was back when they actually looked at the reports.

It was so blatanly incorrect that people laughed while trying to keep a straight face. ;)

When I called them about mine, they said the computer did it. Heard that one before, hehe.

Didn't know that computers could change info on their own...

Thought it had to be "input" by someone

I just had the same thing happen. >: ( I had disputed an inquiry to have it removed and when I got the results back they had changed my D.O.B.. So I got writing and sent them another dispute requesting they change my D.O.B. back to the correct date. I also sent along Copies of : driver's license (blurred the DL number), copy of SS card, and a copy of my electric bill for proof of ID. I haven't heard anything back YET, but its only been a couple of weeks.

I don't understand why they are changing the D.O.B. when I didn't ask them too.
