My wife just got the 4.75% BofA offer (PRIME + 0.00%) till paid....(I ALREADY HAD ONE) CHASE 3.99% BT ...through your billing cycle that ends before February 01, 2003. I just did the 1.90% BT DISCOVERCARD (other one was 5.90%) CITIBANK PLATINUM SELECT 9 MONTHS 0.00%
I'm noticing something different. Up until a month ago, all my offers were for low rate BT's. This includes special offers on cards I had, plus offers wanting me to be a cardholder. About a month ago, it swithched. Now all my offers are for low rate purchases, not BT's. O% on any new purchase. The exception is FirstUSA, which has started offering me BT deals again on all three of my cards. I had none for at least a year. What is curious is that I am maxxed out on all cards and they are pushing these hard. One bill yesterday had at least 6 BT checks.
IF you have a "MAXED-OUT" card with FIRST USA...pay it off...wait a month or 2...DON'T USE IT...then call and ask about a NO INQUIRY CREDIT LIMIT INCREASE, AND A LOW BT RATE...THEY USUALLY DO IT... I even got a letter asking "WHAT'S WRONG"???? "YOU PAID YOUR CARD OFF"!!! "WHAT CAN WE DO TO KEEP YOU"???
Well, I got two of the best balance tranfers offers that I have seen in years The first was from Discover Platinum.. I got it a month ago.. It's 0% on BT and new purchases till closing in August 2002.. The second offer I got is from Citibank Platinum Dividend.. It's 4.9% till paid in full.. I had both cards for since 1995..
