Does anyone know if CITI allows you to do BTs to a check/ATM account? Thanks in advance.

Use George's trick and BT more than you owe to one of your cards, then have a check mailed to you for the credit amount. You get your BT at BT rates instead of cash advance rates. FirstUSA mailed my a check for a credit and it came 3 days after I requested it.

I did that once with Providian but it took about a month before I got my check. I'd like it a little sooner than that. I ask because CITI has a bt offer (waiving the bt fee). Would that be the same as a cash advance fee?

You can have Citi send you a check in the amount you want to BT, it usually takes 5-7 days, then you can deposit it into your checking account.

Hey Momof3 how are you? 3100 posts!!

Thanks for your suggestion. Can I do that on-line by giving my checking account number or would I have to call them?

Yes as Herb stated you have to call them and they will mail you the check, they are pretty quick with those.

Just watch the interest rate associated with the check. Citi just sent me a BT offer/limit increase with a check made out to me and a few for me to fill out. The ones to BT my accounts was 6.9% unitl 2003, the small print associated with the premade out check for me was 17.6%.

I logged on to my account on the web and got 3.9%, good for the life of the transfer.
