Slinky, when did you start with bumpage? Also, how many inq's did it take before something dropped? I'm assuming you did CW?

bumpage is caused by the fact that on EQ credit reports, only a certain number of inquiries be on your report..whether they are hard or soft inquiries doesn't matter. So, if you build up enough soft inquiries (ie. account reviews, credit watch pulls) it pushes all your inquiries down..and when they hit the limit, they fall off your report. I had 89 soft inquiries and 2 hard inquiries yesterday...today I have 90 soft and 1 hard...and in 4 more days, with 4 more soft inquiries, i will have only softs.

    seriously??

not only it falls off it is completely removed?

so a hard inquiry placed on your report that stays for two years could potential be BUMPED off if you rack up enough soft inq?

    WOW.... I like that.. LOL>

I like Bumpage!! Its good for diet!

YES. It's wonderful. My hard inquiry that is coming off in 4 days is from 2002...they do come off completely (does not show up on report or factor into score). As I said, I even gained 5 pts from it falling off.

I really wish this worked on TU, I have 22 inquiries on TU (some I know are non-permissable and am challenging those through the inquirer) oldest one being from July 2001. I have sent intent to sue letters for 7 of those inquiries which I know are not legally there. Hope it works...otherwise, I'm off to court to collect some money.

ok I remember sometime in the past the too many soft inquiries on your CW(equifax) report would cause your file to split.. I guess thats not the case anymore..

    SWEET!!!

Slinky, I have 99 inq's on my CW account. I have had no inq's at all fall off since I've had CW (approx. 25 days) I've racked up many softs due to multiple daily report fetching because I was in the midst of disputing and working with the CRA to clear up some stuff. So mine just keep adding. The oldest is from 2 years ago. Does it include EVERY inquiry regardless if there are multiple on the same day?

    Thanks for your help

It all depends on how big your file is. Most people are up into the 100's before they see any bumbage. I'm at 113, and probably won't see it before my cw expires

I would agree with tracy....I don't know the exact number it needs to be at to start them dropping off...and I have heard different numbers for different people.

OK, so let's do some research here. I have 12 TLs with no adverse information on a 703 FICO report. I have 10 hards and 89 softs starting 11/00.

    1. Is there anything else that should be included to determine the size of the file?

    2. What is your number of Tradelines and inquiries? At what number did inquiries start falling off your CW report?

My Eq bumped when I reached 114 total inquiries. You get 2 softs a day from your report and score. It does not bump of EU,AR, PRM, and a couple of odd things. It will bump of CB correct copies, hards, and Eq disclosures(your pulls). I have had about a dozen go and have 5 left. in 4 days I will have 4, in 5 days 3, and in 7 days 2. Then I gotta wait like a month or more for the last 2 which are the same day. So far though inquiries are not affecting my score.
