what are the ways to achieve bumpage? One of my major problems are inquires and if i understand you all there is a way to bump off hard inqs. Please share. thanks
In a nutshell: It depends on what credit report. In the case of Equifax and Experian, it is very helpful to have thier online credit management applications EQ's Credit Watch and EX's Credit Expert. These are needed to achieve the bumpage. In a nutshell, the more times you pull your report (soft inquiry) you 'bump' hard inquiries off. There are many components to the equation though: the size of your file, back door 'tricks' that only work occasionally, and whether or not you can even pull your report. I know less than that regarding TransUnion, although bumpage can still work by the use of inquiries. My understanding is that the CRAs are feverously working on technical solutions to limit bumpage.
thanks cma i have credit watch so i can pull my report every 24 hours for EQ. at what point does the file fill up and start bumping. what back door tricks are used?
As far as I know there are no back door tricks for CW. I achieved bumpage at 112 inquiries with about a total of 13 accounts listed. It may be different for you depending on the size of your file. I was lucky and was pulling my report up to 3 times a day before they limited it to 24 hours a couple of weeks ago, so I built up bumpage rather quickly. However, I'm currently only bumping off very old inquiries. Just make sure you pull every day and eventually you will have some fall off.
