    Ok..where should I start :)

First, on Equifax's monitoring service, when I disputed things on my credit report it shows online when i pull a report as disputed/investigation in progress. Question is this - would the online report from credit watch reflect a dispute that was made in writing? Friend submitted disputes 2 weeks ago but online they don't show as being disputed/investigated.

Second - Friend sent letter July 29th to Equifax asking for investigation. Green card came back and everything. HOWEVER, equifax never sent results to him. From looking at his CR online it looks like some stuff was verified and one item was deleted but I'm just guessing. 2 weeks ago as I've mentioned above, we sent another round of disputes to Equifax (4 more). Here is my question...from reading the site here, I'm thinking that we should send a letter asking EQ for the results and procedures and what not. But I'm undecided as to whether it's too late now. I don't want to inundate EQ with letters and have them either get confused or think we are frivolous. BTW..we also sent a later letter last week re: some unauthorized inquiries.

So veterans..answers and suggestions/advice needed on above 2 issues. Thanks! :)

If you sent a dispute out by cert. mail on July 29th, it's safe to say they didn't get til about Aug 4th. That means they have until Sept. 3rd to finish, plus 5 days to notify you. If one was deleted so far, fine, but they may not be done with the investigation yet. I wouldn't send anything else regarding that dispute until at least Sept 8th. I'm sure you'll get an updated report by then.

Well, you should know what you dispute and be able to tell what is what on the report. I don't understand your statement that "it looks like some stuff was verified and one item was deleted but I'm just guessing". By looking at the dispute you should be able to tell what there and what isn't. If something was verified, it will say "updated 7/2002". If it doesn't and it's still on the report, then it wasn't verified. If it wasn't verfied within that thirty days, it should be deleted.

First, you need to read the CR then read your dispute and then see what's right and what's not. If there are items on there that weren't verified but still remain, you need to call Equifax and tell them that you know that they received your dispute and that since well over 30 days has passed, they must delete. Or write them a letter.

But aren't they supposed to send something in writing to him with the results? He shouldn't have had to pay to get his report online again to check. That was the basis for my question.

Also..anyone know about the dispute in progress issue?
