Does anyone know where I can find what protection and laws apply to business accounts when it comes to collections? I'm dealing with AT&T for a toll free number my business had. AT&T sent a letter dated Feb. 11 with the standard dispute within 30 days line. Today I got a letter from Allied Interstate dated March 3 informing me that the account has been placed with their office for collection. They have a paragraph about notifying them within 30 days and they will obtain verification. Allied has also been leaving pre-recoreded messages on my machine. I guess AT&T didn't want to wait the 30 days to see if I disputed the bill. I'm not sure where to find anything about business accounts.

I sent a validation letter to AT&T before I got the Allied letter. Should I now send one to Allied or wait to see it I hear from AT&T?
