Is there a company out there that will do a business credit card using the EIN number as opposed to the owners social security number? Need to purchase things for the business and would like to build the credit up for the business at the same time.

On the Wells Fargo secured application it lets you use a EIN instead of SS.

Not sure who else. You'll have to call around.

Leeann, do a search under business credit, there is a rather lengthy thread on that subject.

The ideal situation would be to have well-established credit in the business name that makes any personal identification superfluous. But to open the first accounts that establish credit, you need to use your personal SS number, credit report, etc.

Even if the business accounts report only under the business name, number, address, etc., the first few are exceedingly difficult to obtain without your personal data.
