For all of you blessed folk who have business credit cards such as AMEX, Advanta, Cap1, etc., does the tradeline show up on your PERSONAL credit reports?

I'm interested because hubby will be seeking this in Jan. 2003 and would like to know.

    Thanks in advance!

In our case, the credit will be applied for in the name of hubby's corporation of which he is CEO?President. We don't mind if he is personally liable for the account as a backup.

But we prefer the tradeline NOT report on his personal credit report because the balances are going to be quite high, off and on, by as much as 90%.

His corporation does have a Dun and Bradstreet # and active account status since 1986. Audited CPA financial statements, PayDex and DnB rating (low risk) and 1 long-time commercial credit card (Home Depot).

I know they'll pull a hard inquiry, but that's okay so long as the tradeline itself doesn't report.

    FYI, we're specifically considering:

    1) AMEX Business Line of Credit
    (He already has their Optima)
    2) AMEX Business Delta Skymiles (biz travel; you et 2 points for every dollar)
    3) Chase Business Line of Credit
(His business checking and savings accounts are with Chase)
    4) CitiBank Business AAdvantage (biz travel again, plus he already has their World MasterCard and Signature VISA)

They don't show up on your personal report UNLESS you default on the loan.

but in the mean time, does it show up on the company's dnb report?

Ours are the same, none of the business cards report on the personal report. One of our businesses is a sole proprietorship and the other a corporation.

We're sure hoping they're reporting to DNB. We got a report from them but it wasn't anything like a credit report, can't tell a thing about what tradelines are reporting what.

That's all good news everyone. We don't care if it reports on DnB. In fact, our business vendors, bankers, accountants, lawyers, etc. would expect to see it there and be wary if we had no business credit card or LOC lines.

Also, check the UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) section of DnB for your business loans if you're a corporation. That's where you'll find the posting of those types of loans you take because they are considered a matter of public record.

I was told it takes 3 years before you get a DnB number...is this true?

You don't have to wait 3 years to get a DnB #. The last time I got a # the CSR said why do you want a DnB #? What an idiot. I told her that I need one that's why. I don't know if you can get one today, but the site Hope has will get you to the right place. I got mine via phone, but that was 2 years ago. Charlie
