Those that got bus. credit with Staples, Home Depot,
    etc.

I just got my DNB number and was noticing the applications on Staples, etc. seem to recommend if the bus. is less than 2 years or doesn't have a lot of sales they want a PG.

I know several of you said you did it without a PG. Just wondering what you put on the applications.

I just went through this sequence as well. Applied with Office Depot, Staples, Home Depot and Lowes. As described, I just ignored the PG. Interestingly, I was actually turned down for the Office Depot card (claimed there wasn't enough data in the DNB file yet) and Staples issued a card with a $750 limit. Jury is still out on the home improvement stores.

Here's my question - my current report indicates "DS" which means too new to rate anything. What's the best way to get info onto the report so that you can build a file and ultimately get a Paydex score. I signed up for the $399 package, but the creditors I listed haven't reported yet.

    Great thread BTW.

that why i applied for staples only.

i got my first bill yesterday.

when I pay it, then they report, then my DNB report shows another creditor... Im itchinhg for the home depot card, but I'd rather wait to se some biz preapprovals in the mail, so I know I'm doing OK.

Interesting, I am an owner of an import export business, we import parts from Japan for performance.. and our customers are mostly into automotive performance tuning (headers, cams, pistons, etc.)

We too ignored the PG. We went for the gusto and applied for all the "no pg" retail biz cards and got all of them except Office Max and their reason was that citi underwrites them and they'd already approved 3 other cards.
Woo hoo!! Guess what?? We just checked and we have an 80! yes!! We are on our way!

Hey, how's it going.. it's going steady and well. I dont think it will be a 'booming' type business since it take sto build uip the name..

I plan on going independent w/ the software consulting however, so will be setting up another entity/establishing credit, etc. for that as well.. hope you are doing well!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Bus

I think they are all listed way above......Home Depot and Lowe's revolving was 3k, and then lowe's approved the prox for 10k but HD didn't approve prox, we'll try again later. No gas cards. Didn't try. Are there any without pg? Office Depot and Staples were 1k a piece. We don' t charge a lot on them.

    With pg we got U.S. bank (3k revolving); citibiz -1 @ 8k and 1 @ 3k; Chase at 7k; amex at 5k.....

Also we are considering applying for the WF biz LOC and the US bank biz LOC....they need pg's but U.S. bank told us that they do them on a 640 fico (whoo hoo). Advanta told me 80 paydex was adequate (my word not theirs). Advanta and First national bank of omaha were sticklers about not giving out their "trade secrets"/underwriting criteria.

Some day we'll apply again for mbna biz *cry*.......does anyone have more than one chase loc or biz card?

    Pooch.....
Wondered what you meant by the chase comment. We do have a balance on their biz card (0% on purchases), and were thinking of applying for their loc. Is that a problem?

I also have about 50% of a personal platinum card charged b/c of zero bt offer.

Wow this was extremely helpful, thanks. I wonder how the newer cards will affect us if we apply for any more biz credit even though our inq's are down or gone. You mentioned a 40k tradeline, was that b of a? Glad to hear our paydex will help. (We're like you without a long history. Did you mean personally?)
Also I was surprised to hear that bank one only pulled eq....personally they pulled eq AND ex.

Gald to hear things are moving in the right direction for you. We had our best quarter since we started. I am very happy with the way things are going. Just hope to make it better, so I can dedicate my full time to it.

Once when we applied for a new Chase account, we were approved but because we were carrying a balance on one of their other cards (taking advantage of one of the 0% BT offers) they gave us a low CL and wouldn't reconsider it.

We paid it off a few days later, called back and got a nice line.

I just filed the experience away for future reference. We only apply for Chase or ask for line increases when our balances are very low or zero.

The 40K tradeline reporting to DnB is one of our vendors. We have 3 BofA biz lines totalling 80K, but none of them are reporting to DnB as of yet. They're all new though so I don't know if they are going to report or not.

    Re: Business Credit, Th

I hate to be nosy :) but I needed that info for this week, thanks! What percent did you have it charged up (old card, and was it personal or biz?) - what did they offer you initially for your biz and what did they raise it to when you paid the other card off? I'm assuming it's a card? Or am I confusing two separate instances of personal and biz credit?
Our scenario is that I have around 4600 or so on a 0% bt on MY personal card so it may not affect us.
(If I'm not on the pg for the loc.) My dh pg'd our chase biz card which has over 50% charged like I mentioned before on the 0% purchases. I could pay it off or down, we could apply for the Chase LOC, then bt if we needed to, not completely necessary I guess. We could just keep using it for purchases.
They started us at 7k (didn't have any other biz credit with them and dh didn't have any personal cards with them.) We didn't ask them to reconsider because we didn't want them to pull his exp and see a major but old derog.
So....what should we do? Pay off or down the chase biz card (7k cl currently), then apply for the biz loc? When you asked for them to reconsider (like if we asked them to raise the 7k) did they pull a secondary exp?
