I spoke with Shell and Chevron today regarding their Fleet cards. They told me generally they will approve a corporation without a PG as long as they have been a corporation for a min of one year and also have one year of established credit with the corporation. Both of them gave me the same information.

Although Shell told me if they require a PG they will consider removing a PG after one year of solid payments with the PG on an account.

Chevron told me if someone is willing to give their credit information they only use it for approval of the account and is not used as a PG.

    Office Depot

I applied for an Office Depot card just now. They offer instant online decisions. I was not approved instantly but said my application requires further processing. Wish me luck!

Did you apply for a personal acct? when i go to their site they basically ask the questions then prompt me to a nice filled in application that I have to print and fax. I couldn't find any online decision application for office max or office depot... Im assuming you applied personally? if you know of a business online application please direct me to it. I suppose I can just as easily print and fax it, but my fax is broken yet again (guess I need to use that new Staples card for something, huh?.. tho i probably won't as thrift stores around here have fairly moderns plain paper fax machines that work fine for $2!)

did you apply for the platinum business office depot visa? that can be done electronically, but it is also a bank card which is probably harder to get and i noticed that application wanted everyone's SSN. owner and all users. I don't wish to PG the acct.
Seems I applied online for the Sheel business gas card a couple weeks ago. that was an online app but was not an instant decision type application. I haven't heard a thing from them.

I tried hitting the office depot regular business charge card app but they said their system was down. plus I think thats the same one I linked to earlier that only offered me the print and fax application....
did you apply for the platinum Visa or the regular store charge?

I never stated I applied for their visa. Just the regular business card with revolving terms. If you look into my previous post you will see which link I told you to click on.

i noted that however when i clicked it several times in previous days it only allowed me to print and fax an application. i ooked high and low for the auto app but couldnt find it on the page. so despite what you typed I couldnt get anything auto applyin except from the plat visa business which i thought maybe what you meant accidentally. now it wont even open that link for me as their system is down until 1AM pacific time.
what accts have you ended up getting aproved for thus far without a PG?

    Want a good laugh?

I applied for an account with Office Depot last night. I called their credit center today and was informed my application was turned down because of insufficient business credit but would be happy to reconsider with a PG.

I told the rep I heard Citibank helped companies whom have little established credit with accounts such as Staples and Office Depot. She said that was true when they supplied a PG. I said. "Oh, I meant without a PG". I told her my interest was helping my company establish a solid rating with Dun and Bradstreet and didn't care what type of a credit limit I received as I just wanted another trade to report to Dun and Bradstreet. I further told her my company was listed with 411.

She put me on hold and five minutes later came back on to say I was approved for $250.00. She said since all your interests is in establishing credit then a $250.00 credit limit is sufficient for this task as it doesn't matter what the credit limit is as long as it reports to Dun and Bradstreet.

I got a good laugh out of it.

The one thing I found out is even though it's Citibank, each compnay has it's own criteria.

Almost everyone says Staples is the easiest. It took me almost a year to get Office Depot without a PG.

    Congrats Kev.

    Hey Kev

cool. I FINALLY was abe to find the actual online app and did so. I guess Im due to be next up for the sorry but not enough trade history to grant credit routine....
What specific department/number did you call to plead your case and ultimately get an acct open as I too dont care about the limit, just want a trade opened. thanks

    Want a good laugh?

ah, indeed the same thing just occured to me kev. Only when I called the credit office they told me I was declined because of them being unable to verify the buisiness, but she said she would look into it as almost a testement to the fact that the computer that processes these apps is somewhat flawed. I barely got an "Im listed on 411" before she put me on hold already determined to figure it out. She came back in three minutes saying she was able to verify the business and the account is approved and Id get cards in 7 days. Also only a $250 limit, but she made no mention of not being any issue with lack of other business trades. just that apprently the computer couldnt verify the business through 411 which she was able to do herself.
Anyway bottom line is another trade reporting to both DnB and experian. So two trades down, and at least 2 more to go, possibly three depending who you believe to get a paydex.
Maybe you were on to something with the gas card apps. There have to be a lot of other companies out there to offer up a tiny CL to starting businesses. Just a matter of finding them. drop a note on the thread if you come up with any others. thanks

dnb report is listing my company

I got approved for office deport and staples last month in my business name without PG and after the first monthly payment, I think it has hit the D&B report and now it shows the D&B report is now available for my company since last week, before it said the report is not available. However it does not show paydex score or any risk level in the report.

Is it just a matter of time to show the paydex score or something else?

2 days ago I received a mail from Advanta to apply for its card without asking for PG.

dnb report is listing my company

The way I have heard is that Staples will leave their first payment report when the acct is 6 months old, and then quarterly there after. No idea on office depot. Depot did confirm with me today that they report to both DnB and Experian business reporting.
I was always able to see my business report through eupdate on DnB site. of course it doesn't really say much.
If you got an invite to Advanta without a PG they might have gotten your business name elsewhere, though DnB would seem the logical place. It's really hard to say, but one thing seems consistent... your not going to get a paydex with anything less than 4 trades. and some say 5-7. But I would imagine once you chip away and get it, then the offers will likely roll in... at least from merchants. There are a lot of people here saying that even with a paydex it is still hard to get a bank card without a PG and near impossible to get a car financed in the business name without PG.

    D&B and Experian Business Services

Ok. I talked with Experian today about my company establishing a relationship with them regarding the reporting of my b2b accounts with them. They faxed me the paperwork I need to get started.

Now, what I want to know from you "small business owners" who want to establish credit if you would be interested in seasoned business credit? I am not trying to make money off anyone, but I would like to be compensated for my time as I will have to send monthly updates on each account to Experian (all done manually).

My company name has the word "bancorp" in it. Most think my company is a bank.

This is what I am willing to do. I will report a positive seasoned trade to your Experian Business Credit Report and to your Dun and Bradstreet for one year. I will update Experian monthly and Dun and Bradstreet quarterly. Each report I will do for $300.00.
(i.e. That means $300.00 for Experian and $300.00 for Dun and Bradstreet) The above compensation include any and all updates for one year.

Let me know if you have interest. email me at kevinpochop@hotmail.com

I'll pass. Might as well buy creditbuilder from DnB (which I will never do).
Quite frankly can't you likely do something similar to what some people do to build personal credit... go to a bank and secure a note with a CD as security and make payments on it and get legit payments reported.
Paying $600 so one trade can show up on Dnb and Experian doesn't seem worthwhile to me personally as I'd rather try the bank approach or keep beating the bushes to find some penny ante acct that is obtainable without a PG. There has to be more than Staples and Office Dpot out there.
No offence as maybe someone will want to do it with you. The guy who started this thread from what I could see ended up being kind of shifty. From what I read he started out the post with alleged good intention but ultimately just wanted to sell you his service. trying to take people for ten large for services he knew could ultimately be done by the business owners themselves for next to nothing. I mean yes perhaps some see it as some form of legitimate service, but at the very least it seemed atrociously overpriced. I'm not making an equasion to you by offering your services. I merely stated it wasn't worth it to me personally. best of luck though.
