Shell Shell mailed me asking for a PG, so I guess thats pretty much a decline. There HAS to be more than Staples and Office Depot out there to grant non PG accts. keep hacking....
Pleasant Surprise I woke up this morning with an email from American Express. They sent me a "pre-approved' letter stating I have been pre-approved for their Business Platinum Card. At first I thought it was a fake email but I logged into my account on americanexpress.com and a button popped up asking me to accept my pre-approval. I think American Express has gotten very liberal.. This card use to be VERY hard to qualify for.. Or maybe I am doing something right? YAY
Pleasant Surprise Id imagine if you have a personal acct with them as you have then the risk is minimal. Getting a pre approval cold turkey without any previous history with them is probably difficult...without a PG anyway. On another note when I applied for Lowes business and got declined I noticed they pulled Experian business. i live in Seattle to perhaps it best to see what the criterea is for Experian to issue a score. Does anyone know? Ive been getting a lot of business solicitation junk mail lately but nothing inviting me to take out a card. this is not surprising as i have yet to make a payment on the Staples or even incur a balance on my office depot.
Pleasant Surprise Amex is pretty nice to biz owners who already have personal credit with them. I thought I read some where that Amex pre-approvals are true pre-approvals not invitations to apply. Everytime I have logged on and got a pre-approval message. I have been approved for the CC everytime. Experian issues a Intelliscore. You need at least 3 trades to report before they will calculate a score. Scores range from 0 to 100. A good score is 75 plus.
Pleasant Surprise I logged into American Express this morning and saw my account has already been converted to their Platinum Business Card. I am very pleased. Experian told me they do not publish nor can you purchase your Intelliscore. I asked. Thanks for the info regarding the score. Right now only my American Express Business Account is reporting to Experian. I suspect my Staples will report as of September and my Office Depot will report as of December. (They don't report their first six months.) I figure by this time next year I will have established my business credit pretty well.
Pleasant Surprise Shell gas card came today. Kev, your welcome. I wish they would sell the EXP. Biz score.
Re: Pleasant Surprise What kind of established business credit do you have? What is the age of your accounts?
Re: Pleasant Surprise All new accounts and I don't think any are reporting on Duns. I think EXP Biz has two or three reporting. All of the accounts are under six months old. None of our Amex accounts report. I thought they would eventually but they don't so I had to find some other ways to build biz credit.
Re: Pleasant Surprise My only account reporting to Experian Biz report is my American Express Business account. My Staples and Office Depot is not reporting. How much of a credit limit did Shell give you?
Re: Experian Business Report I spent $8 for a EXP Biz report and only two companies were reporting. It doesn't give you the names of the creditors reporting only the credit lines and the amount owed. I have given up on Amex reporting. After three years and they have yet to report. Shell CL $750
Re: Experian Business Report What are your two credit accounts reporting? Both are less than 6 months old? If you are declined credit you can get a free Experian Business Credit report. Somewhere I have a fax number for Experian to get your business report. As soon as I find it I will post it.
Re: Experian Business Report I have no clue who is reporting. Both accounts are less than six months old. I thought one was Staples until you posted that they report only after six months. I think one is Viking. I know they aren't Amex tradelines because of the CLs and amounts owed. Thanks for the tip about the free Exp. Biz report. I shouldn't have shredded those denial letters.
Re: Experian Business Report That is strange your AMEX is not reporting. You need to contact AMEX. AMEX is the only account reporting thus far for me with Experian. I am sure if you contact AMEX they can do something to add your account to your Experian report. What type of Business Account do you have with AMEX? Once my AMEX is six months old I am applying for Blue Cash for Business.
