    Re: Lowes

I don't think I have a Paydex yet. I have only 3 accounts reporting in DNB and only 1 reporting on Experian.

If I look at the Experian site it says I can pay to see my score with them. Not sure if 1 account really gets you a score so don't want to waste the money yet.

I haven't used the Lowes or Home Depot yet so it's possible they might not report until you have some activity.

I helped a friend of mine who has three items reporting to her Duns report. I applied for a Home Depot accounts requesting $7500.00 limit.

    Request Approved!

Sears came today for $5000. No PG. That makes 6 accounts without a PG. Glad I found this board.

    Re: Credit

Purchase something on your Sears card, even if only 20 dollars. You want the account to report with a balance so the high credit will show. My Sears account is still not showing I believe because I have a zero balance. A lot of my accounts are not showing because of a zero balance I believe.

    LLC

forgive me if I'm going over old info, but I'm just reading thru this post and trying to figure out if the LLC vs. C corp question was answered...I'm in California and will be setting up a corporation shortly - I had planned on making it an LLC, but want to make sure that makes the most sense (esp. based on all the items discussed here)...any help would be most appreciated :)

    LLC

I met a Lawyer in CA that claims to be the guy that invented the LLC. He told me that most small businesses are better of being a corp. He didn't explain why since I wasn't there as a client and I asked him in a casual setting.

    Hope this helps.

    RE:SEARS

What, exactly, can you buy on the commercial one sears account? I ran into some problems; Seems like they don't want you purchasing "consumer goods."

    RE:SEARS

The info that came with the Sears cards says you can use it for anything at Sears or it affiliates.

They may have triggers that notice consumer goods, but someone should be able to override it if you can explain how it pertains to your business. A lot of people in stores are on commission so they want the sale to be approved.

Buying a TV might look odd, but I would think you could say it's for your showroom. Buying underwear might be hard to explain. I don't really know how picky they are.

The Home Depot info says it's for business use only.

    RE:

Is there Any way to get Exp or D&B to tell me who posted a certain tradeline? I have flasless repayment except that one trade is claiming that I was barely late in November (in the exp report it lists 1% of that month was under 30 days late. it lists as 5% on D&B) I know ultimately this isn't going to blemmish me too much as it's very minor, but it still bothers me that Im quite sure it's inaccurate.
Im not sure about the rest of you, but I get my Staples & Office Depot statements sometimes as late as the 29th of the month. with the payments for me being due a week later that sometimes cuts it close. This month I got my statements on the 20th so there was plenty of time, but for the last couple months Ive had to resort to sending in payments before getting the actual statement to make sure they were paid on time.
My D&B lists two trades. I had always assumed it was the Staples acct, but am not sure. When the rest of you look on your D&B does it list what your actual credit limit is or just the highest point you've had your balance? Ive never had my balance near max so Ive never seen the $750 figure. it was always around $500. It couldnt be office depot as that limit is only 250.
Now my experian is listing 3 tradelines. I have no idea what the third is. I did open an acct with FedEx but never shipped anything through them. Would they still have reported the tradeline to Equifax?
Laos my Equifax score is listed as 66% which if I read it right is their definition of middle ground. It lists the primary factors of the scoring as the balance in ratio to the available credit is higher than average and the relatively small CLs as indicating a smaller business. So I assume with a larger trade stuck on there to improve the overall ratio, the score should go up. Apparently the score was enough to get approved with Home Depot. I applied online yesterday and got an unable to complete message and to call them. one of the things that apparently held them up was I listed my new address on the app and despite Staples and Office Depot having my new address have not indicated such to either Exp or D&B. I called and clarified that. I had asked for $15,000 but they said they could only offer me $2800. Which of course was fine by me just to get another trade open. They said I could get an increase in credit with as little as 3 months payment history. Does anyone have any experience getting your Home Depot CL increaed? and if so how many months did it take and how much more did they bump it? I tried to apply later on that day for a Home Depot Net acct, but when I called them that time they said they could open one only if I wanted to devide the credit line up from the already approved revolving business acct. I didn't see the point, and frankly didn't really want the net acct anyway. was just trying to get another trade so I could hopefully generate a paydex on D&B sooner.

So, thus far I had an Experian rating, which Im guessing is the only thing that got me the HD account open to begin with. They were likely conservative with the CL because of the relative newness of the file and info that only allows the 66 score. I can't imagine HD giving me any acct based on the D&B report which still shows 2 trades only and no generated paydex.

I did a dispute online with exp that the address listed was still my old one.
for whatever reason when I try to access D&B eupdate it gives me some message saying my file is being updated and I can't do anything to it at the present time. As I'd like to change the address this is frustrating. I know if I call them they are going to try to sell me something. And also this is only a temporary location until the end of spring when I'll be moving again. I should probably just wait until then as slow as the wheels move anyway.

I did just apply for Lowes online and got the message saying they couldn't render a decision at this time, you will be notified by mail. I assume that means declined? anyone have experience applying for Lowes online and getting the non instant approval?

    RE:

    Bump...

Anyone have any info on their experience with Lowes? I applied last year in the store but got declined. I recently applies online and got the Thanks for applying, we will let you know within 7-10 days. Is this basically a brush off? I tried to find someone human to talk to but everyone Ive talked to at Lowes credit department states there is no department they can transfer me to for status of an online application. They merely suggested me to go to the store or fax an application in. he tried to look my info up 48 hours after I applied but couldnt find any. that in itself isn't reassuring. Guess I might have to wait till I get a paydex and get on their pre approved list.

I have also gotten a few offers in the mail from Amex and Citi. But none were pre approved and asked for SSN in addition to the EIN. I am not interested in doing a PG as I dont want to show any debt personally. I am guessing with Amex or Citi it would be a waste of time as Im sure they would likely want a paydex, unless my Exp score is enough. Either way I am sure leaving the SSN space blank would render the application incomplete and thereby declined. I am guessing I need a 4th trade to get a paydex rating. anyone ever get a paydex with less than 4 trades?

    RE:

My DNB is showing a $750 CL which is Staples. The most I ever charged was $100.

I've been told by a few people that sometimes more accounts are reporting to DNB, but they only show you a couple as a trick to get you to pay to see the rest.

I got a preapproved from Home Depot for &7500 with only 3 small acounts showing on DNB and 1 account on Experian.

Got apporved right away for Lowes right after Home Depot. Sears a week later. I suspect our reports maybe better than what DNB and EXP are telling us.

    RE:

Interesting theory. I certainly wouldn't put it past D&B. They really want to sell you stuff. No matter what you call for they always want to sell something. Kind of like when I used to have AOL and even when I called them to cancel service and they did they still transferred me afterward to some sales department so they could sell me any number of stupid things. AOL is like that. No matter what your calling them for they will always want (and do) transfer you to some salesperson who wants to talk your ear off (and it's usually some 17 year old who is clearly reading this big sales pitch from a pre written page, with little ability to hide the fact they are doing just that!)

I paid $20 to look at my experian page... with subsequent views only being $10 should I desire to see it within the next few months at that discounted price. Funny thing when I did the initial search for my business on experian, the business name came up and under it the stated tradelines were 3. though upon looking the report over there seemed to be only 2. and neither were stating the high credit that the credit lines of my Staples and Office Depot had. it was less. which of course doesn't help the scoring either.

I havent gotten any pre approvals from HD or lowes. However they are still listing my old address on the business reports. Amex and Citi have apparently gotten the yellow forwarding info to my PO box from the postal service. But I have never gotten anything from anyone else. I dont even know if they forward those kind of offers. probably do. just havent gotten on home depot or Lowes golen list yet for whatever reason.

    RE:

I got the Home Depot offer and when I got the card I then applied for Lowes. I figured they'd see a competitor and approve it. Not really sure if that made a difference or not.

EXP is still showing my previous adresss, but DNB is updated. Citi told me you can give them the new address when you apply a long as the business is still valid.

With 6 accounts I'm anxious to see who sends me offers.

    RE:

I try to update thru eupdate on D&B and unlike months ago when I was able to update any info, I have gotten a message for the last week stating that my file is being updated and I will get an email when they are done updating it. Of course since they have my old business email on file no one will get it, but hopefully the eupdate option will eventually let me in to modify that.

Does anyone have a UPS acct? I have one a couple months ago. used it for like $28 in shipping and they have been trying to collect $138 for me! this is apparently due to multi package pickup requests that never picked anything up yet still billed me. I called asking them to adjust it and they said they would but thus far still havent. Do UPS report to D&B? i know they want that number when you ask for an acct. I refuse to pay $100+ more than what they are entitled to, but also dont want them to put a red mark against my company name because they are inept and wont admit it! guess another call is in order.

I applied for Lowes later in the day after getting approval per phone on my HD acct. I dont think that a couple hours was adaquate for the purposes of them seeing I have a new HD acct and they must make me an offer also. Might have to reapply down the road. Since Lowes doesnt have a phone application line and can give me no data on my online application (but my guess is declined since they looked for an acct for me a couple days after applying and found no acct set up. who can sa

UPS DOES report. You better get your billing dispute worked out immediately otherwise you will have another mess to work out.

    RE:

I contacted UPS today. Got my bill corrected after calling and emailing for 8 weeks. My real amount owed was $25, but they were trying to bill me for $110. They scknowledged the error. I asked if they reported to D&B and Experian business and they claim they don't. I even had the agent double check with someone in more authority. I'm still not sure I buy it as the 1 tiny flea bite on my report which states 1% of my november payment was within 30 days was listed as Short Term Business Credit. The only short term I have is with UPS (7 days net). In November I was in their internet site and requested a pickup and gave the specs on the package. The next day I descided to ship with US Mail instead and there were three items UPS billing thought I shipped that were never picked up. I didn't think I had a bill and they certainly didnt bill me 7 days net. I didnt see a bill until near Christmas when I then tried to have everything resolved. they assured me then all was well and the erroneous pickup charges for those packages would not be billed. Sure enough I get a bill a month later. Not only for a legitimate package I just shipped, but three packages I never even shipped thru UPS!
Today it allegedly got worked out and the bill was paid for what I actually owed.
They claim if I call D&B they will tell me who reported me 1% of the November payment in under 30. Im still not sure how I can be 1% late for that month. If your late, arent you just plain late. how am I 1% late for one month??
I want toget that resolved despite it probably not being a huge issue. Just bugs be because I always paid every account on time. I get a bill the payment goes out the same day! sometimes I even send the payment out before I get the bill Just so it gets there in plenty of time.

Anyway, does anyone know if I call D&B if they will tell me who gave me the 1% mark for November?
Should get my Home Depot card this week so I can throw $100 on it and hopefully get them reporting ASAP.

    RE:eupdate

Has anyone tried to go through Eupdate on D&B and got a message saying you can't do anything but view it because they are updating your file? I have had this message for a few weeks or more and really need to update the address and phone info.

Anyone else have this problem? I appreciate the fact they are going to update the payment history as need it. I believe I was misreading my D&B report. I apparently only have one short term credit trade reporting. they reported twice. But office depot or Staples hasn't been on there yet. Ive had staples at least 6 months now and Office Depot 5 months Im hoping those two appear on the report.
id call them but am afraid of them trying to sell me something,,,,

Did you get an offer from each of them or did you jut go online and apply?

Advanta says they will approve me with verification of personal and business information. Faxed a week ago. No change in status page yet. First Horizon rejected my application because they could not verify me as a business. That's BS! I faxed them over a ton of verification today so we shall see how that goes. The First Horizon rep is pissed at me because I chewed him out. That's why my application was rejected.

All of the above total $150,400. Not including the auto lease. Only the bank cards (i.e. amex, mbna, chase, citi, bank one, and us bank have pg's on file)

    My business accounts

Good grief! I used to be that addicted two years ago and it is easy to build a ton of credit...biz and otherwise.

My first question is...now I want to build credit for my other business so I'm trying to remember what order to apply for things. I applied for ODepot the other day (faxed it in.) I remember last time I did all this it didn't take any time at all to have a paydex. Any recommendations about what order any of you would apply in (and in what time frame)...(ie don't apply for which lines until this business has a paydex...)

2- I dont like to give a pg...but if I have to, my TU (of course) is my highest score. Does anyone know who pulls TU specifically. I know Chase, MBNA (they DO grill you!), Fleet and U.S. Bank pulled it before.

3-Does anyone know how reliable the info at www.stupidscores.com is? Thanks.
