My business accounts I'd be curious to know Kev... aside from the Amex related accts which we know you had personal credit with them,, how many of the other accts required you to give a PG or otherwise surrender your SSN? It wasn't that long ago you had maybe 6 business trades. Was it once you got your paydex the offers basically rolled in as I would imagine once you get a paydex you are added to a mailing list of businesses with an established paydex. Or did you still have to apply for most of those and the existence of the Paydex helped gain the approval? It just seems you got a bundle of them recently. Did you have to PG Chase auto lease? Also I have looked everywhere for the Wal Mart business acct application. All Ive found was a Sams Club. I dont have a SC remotely near me, but do have a WM very close. Anyway, nice goin. I'll be happy when I get a paydex as my business is still financially limited. Do you speculate that it was helpful paying the 199 for the creditbuilder lite? Im just not sure how it would help me as the trades I have so far are going to report to D&B anyway. Can one speculate the paydex appears faster if you buy one of their services? thanks for any info.
My business accounts Also... do Nebbs or Viking report these accounts they open with the first order to D&B or Exp? I placed an order with each for just $25 worth of goods. Will they report payments made or is this just a convienant net 30 business supply option? thanks
My business accounts Hi Amy, It's good to hear from you. I haven't been active with the boards a whole lot either. Not like it was before. I actually have 8 accounts now. All without a PG. I applied for all the accounts except Home Depot. They sent me a preapproved offer. I got the accounts in the order I posted. After getting the Home Depot I got the others accounts all within a month. Staples 750 Office Depot 1000 Kinkos 1000 Home Depot 7500 Lowes 1500 Sears 5000 Best Buy 5000 Tiffany Just got the Tiffany yesterday. Don't know the cl yet. I use the gross income that I have on my DNB file.
My business accounts Big did you have to PG the Bestbuy, Sears or Tiffany? was a paydex required? I will be glad when D&B update my file.
My business accounts sorry big, noticed you mentioned no PG,,,didnt see that. Did you have a paydex with Sears/BestBuy/Tiffany to your knowledge?
My business accounts trc, When I check the free profile from DNB it doesn't show that I have a Paydex . Some people have said that with the free report DNB doesn't always show you everything. They want you to pay to see it all. I find it hard to believe that I could get all those accounts and not have some kind of Paydex. I do know that Tiffany called my bank to verify account info. Don't know how much checking the others did. Two days ago applied for Shell without PG. In the past two attemps they said no. We'll see what they say this time.
My business accounts The majority of my accounts are within the last couple months. The only accounts I gave a PG on was my bank cards. None of my other business accounts have a PG. To be honest, once I got my paydex everything turned to gold. I applied for all these accounts without any solicitations. The only junk mail I get is from Cap One and AMEX. AMEX still sends me a ton of solicitations. Don't they realize I have three accounts with them?!? lol When I first applied for Home Depot I asked for $7,500.00. They approved me! Once that limit reported to my D&B report then it was easy for the rest to give me high limits. I have found if you don't ask you don't get. What is nice is Home Depot reports the actual credit limit to your D&B file. None of my other reporting creditors are reporting the limit. Only the high credit. I started my business credit building process last March 2004. Less than one year later I have thirty something accounts.
My business accounts Thats impressive. I got my Home Depot card today and promptly used it. I called the credit department ahead of time to ask why the counter offered my request ($15K) with such a small amount (2,800). they said it was info from my D&B. when there is sufficient info on the DNB they dont bother to go to experian. He said when they check DNB if there is fewer than three trades it is what they call 'thin credit' and issue an account with according credit limit. He said he couldn't tell me what was on Duns... I asked if there was a Paydex... All he could say was there was enough info on Duns to not need to go to Experian. No biggie. I will make the payments and ask for an increase so it looks better. I applied for Lowes a day after HD and have yet to get a declination letter. In my experience when they decline you, a letter to that effect shows up within a week. Who knows, maybe Lowes will pop up. Im wondering if the notion that Duns doesn't show you all the info in your eupdate free file review as you mentioned. I can't believe I would get anywhere if all that is there is UPS with one month showing 1% late. if thats all there was I doubt I'd get anywhere. my Staples and Office Depot are probably on there and not showing on my eupdate. Still, pretty frustrating they are allegedly taking weeks or months to update my file. seems like BS to get me to call and fall sucker to paying them for some $500 service. This sucks what Home Depot wouldnt tell me what was on a business pull of my Duns. Does anyone know how fast Home Depot reports to Duns? do they hit the file as soon as you make your first payment or wait 3-6 months?
Expo Design Not sure if it was mentioned already (probably was, sorry to repeat if so) Expo Design which is basically Home Depot owned store, also citibank, has a card. I just applied asking for $6500. this time they pulled both DnB and Experian, but result was identical to Home Depot. Counter offered $2800 limit. I said fine. by all means. another tradeline and you can use it at Home Depot anyway. If you got a HD, you can most likely get this one too. It's another easy trade if your looking to build and dont yet have the power of a Paydex. there will have to probably be a trade or two with usage on your files, but as most people start with the EZ Staples approval and a UPS, Nebbs, Uline, a second line shouldnt be that hard. Office Depot is fickle, but if you call them up, even after being declined, they will likely give you a $250 limit...
updating ID info on D&B/Exp With D&B epdate not allowing me to access my editable report to give update info on my file (still shows old location which just cost me an approval). IF I dare call up a human, and manage to dodge the bullets of creditbuilder promotion talk, will they update my address info? and if so in any more effective a manner than if I simply wait for my new trades to report it? Staples and Office Depot have had my new address for about 5 months now and if they are reporting it, it sure isn't getting reported on my file as with all the companies I did or did not get apprival from, there was the need to advise them of the old business address so they could find the file. Woman at Amazon told me this morning that she couldnt find my file and I told her to look under my old address. She found it and said she would approve me, but required I send in various proofs new location. And for all of a 1500 limit. Just irritates me as I know if my address that I have been at for about 6 months now was on the file they wouldn't have bothered requiring it. No one else did. They just asked me what my old address was and were content in the fact I knew what it was. I did an online dispute with experian about the address but have yet to hear anything. What really sucks is that apparently D&B won't show you your accurate file through eupdate, nor tell you what trade belongs to who that does show. experian doesnt notate who owns the trade either and it's frustrating in finding out who is reporting and who not. I just fear having to call D&B and not only enduring their sales pitch for creditbuilder, but then THEM asking me to submit documentation of new address if they are in a 'mood'. Anyone have a pleasant and effective phone call with these people? most everything Ive read suggests otherwise and if the wheels are going to turn slowly in getting the address updated anyway, I may as well wait for them to do it via lender reporting it...if that ever will happen.
My business accounts My Home Depot account reported right after my first billed amount. Although it did report as "too new to rate" for the first month and by the second billing it was reporting with no additional remarks. Also Home Depot reports the actual credit limit rather then the high credit.
Home Depot Did anyone apply for home depot online and get the "Cannot process with info provided - call us" message when they clicked submit?
Home Depot I am assuming you probably mean the Code: 25 or 26 and a reference code above that? Yep, I got it when I applied for anything Home Depot or Expo. they usually want to verify something, but it was a simple approval for me. they just counteroffered a lower amount. But an account is an account. Grrr,,, just got a reject letter from Lowes saying denied because they couldnt find my D&B file. had they had a system like HD I would have been able to call afterwards and gave them my old address which would have linked them to it. Dont suppose anyone has a phone number to anyone in LOWES commercial credit department??
Lowes! Whew! After seeing the denial letter based on inability to find a Duns record I thought it may be worth while to go through the maze of phone numbers to the Lowes commercial credit applications department. This took being tranferred to the Wrong department 6 times before someone got it right. Then when I got the right department I got hung with 30 minutes while the issue went to the underwriter who eventually came on the line and was skeptical of my new location. Basically this guy seems to think Duns and experian must keep up to the second information.. Hahah! thats a laugh. he then also cited he would like to see more tradelines. He was about to give me the obligatory apply with a PG or when you get more trades and I mentioned how easy it was when Home Depot simply looked up my old address and was able to cross reference just fine. On the app I had asked for $6500 but he said he couldn't do that and seemed like he was going to write me off again when I asked Just How Much are you Willing to open an account for? after pausing a minute he said $1500. I said fine. He said when either a couple other trades show up or of course a Paydex they would probably entertain the full 6500. And to contact them when those accounts started to show on Duns. So I pulled it out of the fire! I also just got my Nebbs and Viking small orders today by UPS so I would think within another month (especially after I get the Expo and Lowes card and charge something dinky) there is no reason a Paydex shouldn't hit. In theory, by the end of next month there should be reporting: Staples Office Depot Home Depot Expo Lowes Viking Nebbs The existence of a payment to those guys will hopefully put me over the hump. Denied by Dell. Applied by phone yesterday. he didnt even care to ask about crossing my old address over. he was simply a computer input jockey and could care less if it approved or not. subsequent applications via the net were also denied. Not really a biggie as Dells aren't my favorite computer. at least in terms of laptops which is what I need. My HP laptop shot craps three months ago and refuse to buy another HP and too cheap to buy an Apple. a good fully equipped Apple notebook would cost $4K+ and I simply won't pay that PLUS interest for any computer item. I have applications for Sears, Macys, Best Buy and Tractor supply ready to go when a paydex hits the report. Ive heard Sears is a net 30 account, but I thought there was an option on there for a revolving business account. i thought there was one for net 30 called a real estate management type of account and then a regular revolving. Any info on this? I have rellocated to another business site and frankly have drug my feet about getting a business phone line. I got the above accounts (with the exception of Staples and Office Depot) with using a cell phone number in my own name. That may have been another reason Dell trashed me. I am waiting for them to install my business line so I basically have all my bases covered.
Lowes! I think I have a Paydex because today Chevron called and said I was preapproved for $2000 and asked permission to send the card. Naturally, I said yes after asking the rep a few questions to make sure he wasn't a fraud. The thing that bugged me was the rep asked for my SS#. I told him no way. I said nobody else has it and he's not getting it either. He said OK and said I'll have the card in 7-10 days.
Lowes! They sure like to try to get that PG, don't they? Lowes underwriter was prodding me for a bit for it and I cut it off saying I never PG anything. I am guessing by my talk with the underwiter that I have no Paydex. which doesnt surprise me at this point. When he only offered me 1500 he alluded to the possibility without knowing why my new address wasnt yet on Duns that I could be a fraud trying to borrow the companies name to take out credit. I chuckled and said if I was doing that I would pick a company that had 15 trades and an obvious paydex. He had to concur. I honestly dont think the address issue was that much of a concern. if it were he wouldnt have given the 1500. So I will be calling them back up per his saying I could the minute the other trades show up. My ultimate goal is to be able to secure a car WITHOUT Any docs. I don't want to have to give up the bank acct info as it's not very impressive. I try to keep business funds as under the tableas possible. this unfortunately has the drawback of not being able to prove your business takes in what you say it does. a Lot of my business is done in cash or Net funding like paypal ( when I sell items I get paid via paypal more times than not, so I have a good chunk of a balance.) I dont want to PG it either. So... now that I made my goal a tough one... tough, but I suspect not impossible. Im sure any car Id want would be gotten for 30k or less that it is possible. But I think the business is gonna have to be on Duns with great history for some long time before I build up anything that remotely will convince a lender to do a car. Kind of funny how folks with no documentation can secure tens of thousands in business cards and they could just as easily sink than swim. And a car is harder even though it could be used as collateral. go figure.
Home Depot trc... when you say simple approval, what did they want to verify? I was going to call them back today.
My business accounts pochop........ Did you apply for the Chase auto leases online? I see personal but not business. What type of documentation is required? I am pretty sure they pull TU...do you remember? I forgot if your post said you pg'd the biz auto lease. Thanks!
Home Depot Amy, I think if even something very minor hangs the application up you get this message. The first time around they just wanted me to tell them my old address as it was the one still on my Duns. When I applied for the net terms withthem hours later they noted to me i had just applied and was approved for the revolving so they weren't interested in approving the net account unless I wanted to take some of the credit from the revolving. I said no figuring all Id really have to do is make a couple payments on the revolving and reapply and probably wouldnt have any problem getting a net 30 (not that I really want one). with Expo Im not sure what they wanted. obviously HD/Citi related and the agent pointed out I had a HD acct already but still approved Expo. When you call it will probably be something minor. Oddly enough I haven't yet gotten my new business phone line and have been using a cell number. This has not kept HD, Lowes and others from approving me anyway. I think Dell trashed me for it. Obviously you can tell a cell number when you run it through any number of databses. they will say who issues the number, and as T-Mobile doesnt offer landlines its a pretty easy givaway. Id say its something little if not just plain verbal confirmation of the application. If only Lowes gave these vodes with a handy 800 number. sure would have saved the hoops I ran through yesterday. Good luck.
