Any advice for what to look for and how to work with buyer's agents? I have not signed any contracts but have been corresponding with one particular one for the past couple of weeks. I will meet with her in person this weekend. I have checked on her real estate license and she seems to be really listening to what we want and don't want. What else should I watch out for?

I don't know if it matters but just in case, we only qualify for FHA.

    Thanks!

    Gabriella,
A buyer's agent SHOULD be nice to you since they don't get paid if you don't close.

I don't know there is a science, but ask her for references of other people she's represented.

Ask her how many clients she currently has - will give you an idea of how much time she'll have for you.

I have a realtor (not an exclusive buyers agent) and he's been receptive to my concerns and questions. When it looked like I wouldn't get my mortgage, on his own, he started using his connections to find someone else for me.

If you're comfortable with her, I'd say go for it. Sign a short contract (as a trial period).
