Hopefully next year we can start looking into buying a house. I need to fix hubbys CR first. He has student loan late pays, from as late as this past june. We applied for a forbearance in June, bringing the 2 accounts to current, and then consolidated. I'm going to try everything I can to get the late pays off, but we all know that probably won't happen. I do have letters from Sallie Mae and Nelnet, stating the accounts were in forbearance during these dates. Now, with these lates still showing on his report next summer, will these letters help us in anyway w/ a mortgage co? I know you need at least 12 months of clean history, sometimes 24. We can wait til he has 12, but I don't wait for 24. I was wondering if they would take these letters into consideration? TIA
