I asked this earlier, but got no response. I'm so curious, I need to try again.

I sent out a validation letter for 2 of hubbys cable bills. They are unpaid, and his. Bothw/ same CA.

During validation, never heard from the CA. They never marked in dispute. I checked the CR's today, and it got deleted from Exp. , but put on EQ as paid collection.

Now, should I be thankful that these got deleted on 1, and marked paid on the other. Or should I try to get the paids deleted? How would I do that? I'm afraid to awaken the sleeping dogs. He really owes these--one was $68 and the other is $84.
(his EQ score didn't change when these came out of dispute)

They never validated with you yet. added it to a credit report? Free Money. Sue them. Its continued collections and nothing is placed in dispute on any of the CRAs? I would rip them apart.

But they didn't add it, they just changed it from unpaid to paid--and they deleted it from one report. I'm afraid they will change it back to unpaid, and reinsert it to EXP--maybe even adding it to TU. Should I send out the estoppel next? I'd rather not sue--because I'm a big chicken sh*t! LOL

Well, you might have to. If they add an account to the credit report without validating it then its considered continued collections. IF they say we don't need to validate it cause its paid and you know full well its not paid. Just say its not mine and I never paid anything that isn't mine. Prove that its mine, etc. If they don't or can't, you need to take them to court.

Ok, I'm sending out some CRRR today anyway, so while I'm there, should I send out a modified estoppel? I can say that I have them on violations (they never placed in dispute either) and that they have failed to prove, so must delete w/ in 15 days. I just hope that it doesn't come back and bite me in the butt later on. At this point, his CR's are so bad, paid is better than nothing! LOL at least he didn't lose points!
