Anybody ever received a collection notice from a credit bureau?? Just wondering- I have this letter that says "CREDIT BUREAU" in large letters on the top of the notice... at the bottom it says "Federal Law requires us to notify you this is an attempt to collect a debt..." so it is obviously a collection agency, right?

I am assuming it is legal for a credit bureau to operate a collection agency- since Equifax has done this for years... but it seems to me that when you are wearing your "debt collector hat" you shouldn't be sending collection notices on a letterhead stamped with "credit bureau" which would be deceptive to the consumer... this is new ground for me, anyone have any experience with this kind of situation?

IDENTIFY THE BUSINESS AS ONE OR THE OTHER, NOT BOTH...
