How can I find out if a CA has a right to collect in my state? The CA is based in TX but I live in NY, The CA's attorneys are based in NY. Is that sufficient enough to collect?

If someone know the answer to this question, please help! I'm trying to find out if this CA has a license to practice in NYS.

New York State does not require a CA to be licensed in order to collect in that state.

    Hi Tril,

Once you've determined if it's necessary to be licensed in your state, the most reliable way to do it is to call your Secratary Of State and ask them.

    :)

    Edit: Well there ya go.

Make sure they're registered to do business tho. And they probably are.
