CRA & CA =sharing information but not reports -- One more question -- since ordering my credit reports and updating my addresses with the CRA's, 2 collection agencies (for accounts NOT LISTED on the reports) have appeared out of nowhere, sending me letters stating. "It has come to our attention that you may not have recieved our letters because we had the incorrect address...." (One of these accounts has changed hands so many times I have no idea who the original creditor is!) Neither of these CA's "pulled" my report and neither have placed information (as far as I can tell) on my report. So how did they get my new address? Does the CRA notify them when information changes, even if they haven't placed any information on my report or pulled my report? Just curious how -- and why -- they got my info. Thanks!
Re: CRA & CA =sharing information but not reports -- Equifax most certainly does notify CA's of address changes. Or they did on me. A few days after I requested Equifax contact me via PO Box instead of street address - POOF - damn Gulfstate did too. Like I care, I have attempted to validate thru OSI and they refused and I am now suing them in court so I am glad they contacted me again.
Re: CRA & CA =sharing information but not reports -- Is it legal to do that? What right does the CRAs have to inform all of the CRAs about your address?
