Just a note to tell you "don't ever trust a CA , Ever " I have been discussing a settlement on my medical bills with a lady we will call Jane . I told her that I would pay the dept next Thursday when I get paid and they said that they would consider deleting the tradeline . I talked to her Monday and got served paper's in the mail on wednesday , not by a process server . I called and asked what was up and she acted dumb . Now a $367.00 bill is $943.00 to settle($500 Attorney ) . When you are honest and try communicate with them they will still try to screw you. Toolhound
Sometimes it takes being burnt to realize that these CA's are pure scum. I never have and never will communicate with a CA over the phone. It's just not worth it. Anything that I need to say to them and they need to say to me needs to be in writing. That's the end of it. I really wish you luck and hope that others on the board will offer you advice regarding the lawsuit.
OUCH.. seriously that is awful news.... I echo the above posted reply and hope that you get good sound advice (especially since I have none)
Be sure you take this story with you to court. The judge just might listen. Show up and tell your story. Those judges are not dummies.
