there is an entry on my credit report that has been in dispute since 2001. Im guessing at some point I told them the account wasnt mine and they placed it in that status. (the CA, not the CRA) is it supposed to be there all this time with an 'customer disputes this account; collection account' listed in the status field? is that different from when the CRA puts it in dispute? probably a dumb question, but I want to be certain about it.
