Can anyone tell me what my next step should be. I mailed a letter (CRRR) to a CA asking that they send proof that I owe them($548). That was over a month ago. They have not responded but they did sign for the letter. I have sent a complaint form to the Consumer Protection Office but that seems to be taking awhile. I am closing on my house on the 2nd of May and this is the only account I cannot resolve. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. PS. I have no money to offer
Send them the estoppel letter now . If they don't reply send ITS letter 15 days after they get the estoppel . Have they noted it in dispute on your reports since they got your Val.letter? If not that's a $1000 violation.
No Equifax has not flagged the account as being disputed. Equifax said that the CA verified my name and address and that is all Equifax requires for a validation of a debt.
