Do they really have nothing better to do than to hit me over the head 5 years later for $22 bucks!? Sorry all, just venting.

If you know you didn't write this check, be specific in your request. If they have misidentified you as the check writer, but they refuse to acknowledge the error and remove the damaging tradeline, you want to collect damages under FDCPA for misrepresentation, as well as force their removal. You want: Copy of check, front and back Name, address, and any other identification on check (phone number) Check number Date on check Amount of check Checking Account number Name of Bank Address of Bank Payee to which check was made out to Payee address at which check was presented Date received by payee Date returned to payee by bank
