I live in a small town, I just had the Sheriff come to serve papers to a man that I have known all my life. He is 94 years old and lives in the rest home. His phone # is listed at my address. the rest home has the first three numbers of my address but a different street. It is listed in the phone book.as my address. I guess the ca just tries to get anyone served no matter whether they have the right person. I was told that this was for a 40,000 moble home that was bought in Flordia in 1996. He gave a name for his wife of someone that I had never heard of. I am a very good friend with his daughter so I know that they have the wrong person. Something has to be done to CA with their tactics. This man is very hard of hearing but I hope they have not called him. I don't think he ever paid for anything on credit. Be aware of CA they will try anything.
Yes, George I refused the papers. It just makes me mad that is allowed to go on. If the sheriff had tried to serve this man, it could have been fatal. I am glad he came here instead of the rest home. Since we had my husbands idenity stolen and have been harrased by a credit card company and now collection agencies, just because he has a very common name. I know it can happen to anyone.

Re: Re: CA have no mercy! This man has nothing to attach. WHAT IS SO UNFAIR IS THAT ANY COLLECTION AGENCY CAN SERVE PAPERS ON PEOPLE THAT OWE THEM NOTHING. They go thought the data bases and file even though they have no idea if that person owes the money, if their name is any where close to who they want to file on, that is who they file on. I know because this was done to my husband. they had his ss# but wrong birthdate and an address that was not his. We are still fighting the CRA, that still will not delete iformation that is not correct
