Checking my report online at Equifax...I see a new inquiry from a collection agency. Why would they need my credit report and why would Equifax give it to them????

    I feel violated! lol

It's called the unfair permissible purpose. They can claim they are trying to locate you to collect an unpaid debt. I know people will recommend disputing, but since it's with Equifax you haven't a prayer:(

It's called "poisoning" your credit file. CA inquiries can hinder your getting new credit. Have they contacted you about any kind of debt? Do you owe anyone who might be suing a CA? You should go straight to the source if so, to force them to take it off.
