I'm sort of at a loss as to what to do.

I have one collection account from 3 years ago (not past the sol) on one credit report.

I don't think I've ever heard from this company--i.e. no phone calls or collection letters, unless they're dba another CA.

I sent them a validation letter, got the signed green car back. No reply.

I sent an estoppel letter. Got the signed green card back. No reply yet.

I don't particularly want to take them to court.

It's my first time with no response at all from the party I sent letters to.

    Advice?

Did you tell them to remove it from your report, since they can't validate it? I think I would make sure I did that.

Also, dispute the entry on your credit report by sending copies of your letter and green cards to the CRA.

All in all, when it comes down to it, sometimes you have to sue them, or at least act like it.

Thanks breeze. Can I do this with OCs, too?

Weird. I called the CRA to ask about the CA -- they haven't heard a word either. They will delete in 10 days as the CA isn't answering.

OC's are not subject to validation like CA's are. If you dispute directly with them, you are likely to get a form to file a fraud affidavit. If the account is yours, you don't want to file that form claiming it isn't.

Thanks Breeze! I don't know what to do as I've sent two letters and heard nothing from the OC. Even if I get my score up into the 700s, there will still be things (like get prime rates) I can't do w/a chargeoff on the account, right?

How old are the charge offs? how much money? which creditors? Someone here has dealt with the same thing, I'm sure.
