Is there anything I should do? Should this license already be updated for the 2004 year? Or do I assume it will be updated shortly???
It stands to reason that if someone or some entity has a license for their profession they may have some kind of grace period to renew the license. Sometimes the validity of their old license during the grace period is contingent upon the submission of a renewal application and sometimes not. Unless the collection folks are subject to passport/entry rules ie your license must be valid for at least 6 months after you make the collection contact, this might be a difficult sting if their renewed license is already in progress or has been issued but not visible on the site.
Since it just occurred and it may be a site update situation, I would contact them directly and determine if legal or not as soon as possible. Good luck!
