If a business that is unlicensed as a CA (but collecting/attempting to collect...and in their state they are required to be licensed), what are some of the paybacks we as consumers can offer them?

Oh they know. Ironically it was them who called me one day and told me. Seems our friendly CA told them they 'weren't a collection agency' and therefore did not fall under their jurisdiction. Well well now, after I gave a slight nudge to this agency to 'look again', they did. (and ironically enough it was ME who never even checked on their license in the first place, I was merely explaining that this business DID fall under jurisdiction and my complaint was just for FDCPA and FCRA violations)
....And now, well now my friends owe some fines.

But......that's not good enough. I want them to be sorry they never took my generous settlement :)

Actually, one more thing jam....is there any recourse for consumers who paid this CA while unlicensed? Meaning getting money back/ forcing a delete, etc? (obviously not for me, but

Well, they could always try to file a $1,000 for false and misleading representations. I would say not being licensed is a false and misleading representation that they are authorized to do business within the state that they are operating in.
