Hoping someone can help me with these problems...first all have a Cap One account that went into charge-off status 9/02. The collection agency MRS associates never sent me anything in writing they just kept calling so I finally agreed to pay them $23 dollars a month 2 months ago. Now I get a call they want to raise my monthly payment to $56 a month and I said I will think about it but never gave an answer. Is there any way I can go to the OC and negotiate payments or is it too late? Im scared because I have all ready had a wage garnishment in 1999 from Chase. That is my first problem.

Second I had some succesful deletes (even though score dropped from 587 to 562) I still have the following 2 and need suggestions:

    1. Popular Club DOL 1/98 charge-off $38 which was verified by exp, I dont know how since they payments were cash paid to an independant rep anyway, should I do a pay to delete on this or dispute again as not mine?

    2. Motormint Finance- Public Record satisfied 4/02 was verified, this was an auto loan that I stupidly co-signed for my ex-husband. Any ideas on how to get it removed?

Please help I am new at this I know I have been asking a lot of stupid questions!

    Hi Dar,

    First welcome to the board.

The very first thing you want to do is take a deeep breathe, and relax dear. None of us got into trouble overnight and we never fixed it overnight.

When I first Joined I decided something for myself. "I would not do anything for exaclty one month". This I thought would give me a chance to read TONS of stuff, and develop a plan.

I'm delighted to say it went off perfectly. I never even actually had to file suit, but believe me I knew how, and certainly would have.

Anyway my point; take your time. This is the biggest mistake people make is getting into a rush.

Just hang out with us for a while and go ahead and ask lots of questions.

The most important thing you need to know right now is - you're not alone anymore.

    :)
