I have a Collection that is supposed to drop off next month. I got this a) from experian where it used to be listed that said 'remains until January 09 and b) from the docs provided by the creditor. I can't find the December doc but do have the 2/15 doc that shows the late fee(s) on there so at the very very worst I can show jan as being delinquincy date. I called TU they (the offshore support team sigh) said their records showed 5/02 DOFD. I said impossible, I'm looking at the CAs *OWN* records that show the very latest it could have been delinquent is 1/02. They said they'd put it in Dispute and 'verify' with the CA. I asked it that meant they'd demand docs supporting the claim, they said no, basically they ask electronically 'is this info correct?' and the CA answer electronically 'yes'. Fine way to verify debts. I on the other hand am responsible to PROVE they are wrong, i.e. I am guilty until I prove I am innocent. If they do come back and 'verify' do I have a case against CA (verifying when they clearly have records which they supplied that they are wrong) or TU who was TOLD that the CA knew they had reported the wrong date? Or am I stuck trying to get CA to provide docs, AGAIN, and/or sending in the docs I have that at least show I was delinquent 4 months before CA claims? Hoping at this point the idiots just drop it; wayyy past SOL, not getting $, and about to drop off.
