The collection agency (used to be located in my hometown of 30,000 people) is out of business. I have been to the place, sent 2 CRR letters that both came back, called them, called the city hall, BBB they are CLOSED. I even called the hospital the CA is reporting for to get a number and was told they are no longer in business. How in the hell does the CRA keep verifying when this business is closed?

Question 2. Another CA...Gulf Coast Collections in Houston, TX. I have 3 medical collections to them. My CRR have come back twice with the notation
"forward order expired", so what do I do about this?

I would definately ask for procedures on this one! I would send copies of the returned CRRR saying the are out of business. How can they verify with a company that is no longer in biz?

Is there a procedure request letter somewhere? All 3 have verified this and that is BS, if the hospital says they are closed and they were the customer what gives? This just shows how stupid the CRA's truly are...not that we didn't already know that. I don't know what to do about the other CA that I keep getting returned CRR on. Do I call the CRA and tell them I need an updated and correct address or phone number so I can send the validation letter? They keep verifying it as well...I think they are in business but have a new address and it's NOT the one on my credit reports.
