hi - lurking and learning for some time, but not posting - have a question that has been causing me some confusion. we have a CA reporting for a small paid medical bill, maybe a couple of years old - we never dealt with the CA - were in the process of paying it off to the provider when they appeared - provider accepted all payments and I sent a cease & desist to the CA - however, they continue to report. TU deleted them during a recent dispute, but Ex & Eq have verified - I have sent at least two follow up letters to EX & Eq, but am getting nowhere. Does the CA have the right to keep reporting this if they were never involved?

Call the hospital's billing office and work through them.

thanks for responding - it's not a hospital - it's a provider of an ancillary medical service - don't even recall what - and the last time I spoke with anyone there, they were, shall we say, not very customer/patient friendly - if I do maybe write them a letter, am I on firm ground challenging the reporting?
