I'm in the process of trying to obtain a mortgage. I had a vet bill that went to collections. I ended up paying the vet and the account has been pulled from Collections. The mortgage company requires a written letter from the CA stating the account has been canceled with them. The CA will not provide anything in writing. Is there anything that can be done?

    Thanks for the reply

The VET will provide a paid in full letter. But the mortgage brooker is saying that since the account went to collections, they need a letter from the CA stating it is no longer with them.

The VET can't say "I PULLED THE COLLECTION BECAUSE OF THE PAYMENT IN FULL"

Maybe he can give you a COPY OF THE "PULL" letter to the CA??? or have it FAXED to the loan company...

Is the account not listed as 'paid' on the collection account on your reports?

The account was just paid last Thursday so it's not updated with the CB's yet.

I'll work with the brooker on Monday to see if they'll accept a letter from the VET.

I really wish I started this credit repair 6 months ago!!! Just sold our condo and now shopping for mortgages.

How about if you just show the broker you paid the CA? If by check, your bank can assit, if my m/o there's an 800 number you call and they'll tell you on the phone whether it was cashed or not.
