I had a collection on my reports a couple of years ago. I disputed in writing and it was removed. Now, it was been posted on my reports again. On one report, the same TL has been listed twice!! Is this possible? Can I have it removed based on my initial, successful efforts to have it removed? Any help is appreciated.
Was your dispute thru the OC or CA, or thru the CRA? If you disputed thru the CA within 30 days of their first notice, requesting validation, and they decided to stop collection instead of providing it, then if they later continue collection without providing you the validation you requested, FDCPA violation. If it is a different CA, dispute and request validation from them. If it was disputed thru the CRA, and the CA didn't verify to the CRA, resulting in removal by the CRA, then the CRA should have required certification by the CA before reinsertion, and should have given you notice of the reinsertion.
