Anyone out there ever deal with Risk Management? Has anyone ever been successful to get a deletion letter from them? They say it is against their policy.

I also have the same question for anyone who has gotten a deletion letter. I sent them a settlement letter for deletion and I haven't heard a peep back.

By any chance, are you dealing with their office in Mt. Prospect, IL?

I have a collection on my EX file from them and was looking for any experience in dealing with that office.. I am asking for a deletion in return for a full payment ($700.00).

    Thanks

I am dealing with the office in NC, I believe which said they would do the delete letter, but reneged on the letter and referred me to the Corporate Office which said it was against their policy and then referred me back to the NC Office.

Lots of folks on the board still looking for any Risk Mgmt info

Do you have the letter? Seems to me that that could be used against them.

Did they reneg on the letter in writing? Did they say that they would delete in writing?

The debt was for under $100 and I called RM to get a deletion letter prior to paying. The supervisor said no problem, but would not give it to me in writing. I needed to pay this and thought that if I can get anything in writing for deletion than that was at least a good thing so I went to the OC which took payment and made good on the letter (suprising since it is utility). Even after I sent the letter twice to the CA they still refused to remove stating it was against their policy. That was how they reneged verbally okay then refused.

You may be able to use this as some type of ammunition. I put that I knew about the merger in my estoppel letter.

Also, I have been working with RMA in Mt. Prospect, Duluth, N. Augusta, and one was listed as Rmapp Noaug SRS.

    Duluth and Rmapp dropped off.

I am currently working with the one out of Mt. Prospect in which I sent the estopple w/ the merger info ...so, we will see. My next step is sending a copy to FTC, BBB, and Planet feedback.

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

    tea,

Can you pleases provide me with the contact information (phone number) for RMA office in Mt. Prospect, IL. I just have their mailing address. The escrow company will pay them a full settlement for the collection I have ($700) at my mortgage closing. Since I never been contacted by RMA, I will have to call them, most probably a few hours before closing (in two days), to get the account number for the collection I have with them.

I am trying not call them before that just to make sure they won't go back and update their listing with the CRA's.. Currently they are only on my EX file and last updated 2 years ago. I would hate for them to go around and put hard inquiries on my file or to show up in EQ or TU before my loan closing.

    Thanks

You know I have to admit I don't know what a estoppel letter is. I checked the discussions and sample letters and I don't know which ones would be an estoppel letter. So many angles so much to learn. Can you give me a copy of the type of estoppel to use for this??? Please...

Tea - Thank you for the letter! Do you think I can use this after the first 30 days of no response?? Do I really have to wait 60 days???

No, you can use it right after day 31 if you want. Because at that point they are in violation.

I just got a letter from them for an old dillards account(97) for 299.00, I sent out a validation letter to them via CRRR two days ago. This account was owned by another CA that fell off last year after I disputed. I don't have any scoop on this CA, I hope their not to agressive. Hopefully, they will start screwing up soon.

If you just got on board with Risk Management all I know is they are BIG and it is against their policy to issue delete letters. Good Luck! I have until the first week or so of August, before their deadline is up for Validation.

My experience with RMA has not been good. They were collecting on an old (1996) Dillards account. After requesting validation and sending estopple, no response.

Only after requesting validation with Dillards and receiving a letter stating they no longer have my account in their database, did RMA remove this item from my credit reports.

With persistance you might have a chance.

    Good Luck!

    Hi Tea,

I'm a tad bit confused. I went and looked at the thread about the merger, but I don't understand how putting the merger in your estoppel was important. What am I missing?

To me it seems like RMA and Equifax are working together. It is almost like giving inside trading information.......I could be wrong though ....but it just does not seem right ....let me know what you think.
