The CA that I sent validation to did reply with "account cancelled" should I fax this to the CRA since I have not heard or viewed anything from them (CRA) regarding this aco**** or should I just wait for the CRA to do there investigation and then if they try to come back with verified or some other crap I can nail them with the CA letter stating account cancelled? I was thinking it might speed up the process of getting this acount of my CR if I faxed the letter from the CA? Any suggestions

If you're just looking for a quick deletion, I suggest you fax it.

I was in the same position where a CA had sent me written confirmation that they were deleting, and while two CRA's deleted (I had initiated a dispute), the other verified. I faxed them a copy of the letter from the CA, and it was deleted within days. Of course, I could have had a case if I decided to file, they couldn't possibily have a defense in how they "verified" the account, but in the end I'd rather just get the deletion and move on.

I am thinking that I might just get it off of my report ASAP. Funny how none of the CRA seem to place "dispute" on your CR? I have noticed a few people on here asking the same thing about if the CRA is suppose to place dispute next to the account you are disputing. This is why I might just send over the info to the CRA since it looks like the CRA move real slow on this subject.

The only report I can actively see is EX. As far as I can remember, I've always seen the "in dispute" notice on my report after I've placed an item in dispute. Not sure why several members have been saying EX hasn't been doing this. Seems like it's a very recent occurance.

CRA's do drag their feet, so faxing would help quicken the pace for you.

I have disputes on EXP and they told me that they don't put a dispute note on the file until they finish the investiagtion. A few people here have told it's a violation. However, on my copy of EXP it shows disputes.

It seems that the CRA just do what they want when they want. I find it hard to find the "normal" process for much of anything that has to do with CRA. From one person to the next you will get many different tales about how the CRA have handled there case

I wonder what they think the point is of placing an "in dispute" notation on a credit report only AFTER they finish the investigation. How can something be in dispute once they've completed their rocket science-like investigation?

This gets funnier all the time.

BTW, you're right it is a violation not to mark account in dispute.

Just another thing that you ahve to watch out for with the CRA. That is one reason why I wish I could get my Equifax CR online that makes me mad!

Once the dispute is resolved it's noted as "confirmed" isn't it?

With EX, on the report itself, it says nothing under the account. On the sheet that refers to the outcome of the investigation, it says deleted, verified, or updated.

With EQ, on the report itself, it says nothing under the account (at least from what I can recall). On the front page update sheet it will say either "EQ veriifed this item belongs to you" or "The item has been deleted from the credit file". Or maybe something else like "This item has been updated, new information is provided below".

As far as TU is concerned.....

Every now and then TU just likes to send me updated reports printed on a high quality dot-matrix printer.
