I've tried the search feature but I can't find it.

I have an account on TU that shows:

    >COLLECTION RECORD<
    CA's Name Account#xxxxxx OPEN ACCOUNT
UPDATED XX/XX/XX BALANCE: $XXX.00 INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNT
    PLACED XX/XX/03 MOST OWED: $XXX.OO OC's NAME

    and another that shows:

    >COLLECTION RECORD<
    CA's Name Account#xxxxxx OPEN ACCOUNT
UPDATED XX/XX/XX BALANCE: $XXX.00 INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNT
    FACTORING ACCOUNT
    PLACED XX/XX/03 MOST OWED: $XXX.OO OC's NAME

Can a CA show an account as open? Why would second entry show as a Factoring Account when it is not and can I dispute as a wrong account type??

CA's can be factoring companies. Most debt buyers are considered factoring companies.

Open is a shady area by CA's, they may claim that as long as they have the account, their account is OPEN.
