Is there any time limit that a paid CA has to take the TL of your reports if it was agreed upon in writing before payment was made that they would remove any TL? I'm sure this has been answered before but I could not find any threads about it. Thanks again.
Was there a time limit in the settlement? How long has it been? I had one that I was thought was taking too long, so I disputed, and they kindly didnt verify.
I am assuming that you did NOT put a time limit in your letter? I would say within 30 days it should be off your reports. If it were not off by then you can dispute with the CRA or get in touch with the CA ASAP and tell them to remove the TL NOW! Or they are risking being sued. Good Luck
I hope you got this agreement in writing. If not, DO NOT PAY until you do, since the CA wll most likely ignore their end of the agreement. If the agreement is in writing, pay them., and if it is not off in 30 days, here's what you do: 1: Dispute it as "not mine" with the CRA. If the CRA removes, fine. If not, it would be becaus ethe CA verified the debt as yours. 2: Dispute it again as "not mine" with the CRA. If the CRA removes it, fine. If not, the CA verified it again. 3: Sue the CA for Breach of Contract claiming mental duress, loss of sleep, loss of consortium and, if you are female, inability to concieve as damages. Calim $100,000 as damages. That should get the CA'a attention. If it doesn't, it should get you $100 Grand to help you feel better.
