Wow...Exp just gave me another 19 points. The only thing I can see is that one of the CA accounts on there hit the 2 year mark. Now, if I can just get them to report the correct opening date of 1999!
Congrats! I was wondering if it was true that tl's start adding points around the 2 year mark...good deal. Now, I just have 1 year 10 months to go, lol. I pretty much screwed myself...Hubby and I have opened SEVERAL accounts AND 2 new auto loans. They all pretty much hit the reports at once, so it sucks. I guess we got a little too happy that we could finally be approved for stuff. Good thing the actual spending is under control...not goin down THAT road again, ya know... Something I have noticed by looking at my report and maybe yours is the same... My file is about 12 years old. I have 1 account from 91. There are no new accounts opened until 2000. I have a huge gap in my history. When the oldest one falls off, it will make my file look like a baby. Since I had a majority of my derogs taken off, there's just a huge hole in my report for history. Is your sthis way?
Well, in 1991 I was 16 years old so I didn't have anything then But, the oldest thing I have on my report is a BK from 1996. Then it's a few negs from 97/98/99. After that, nothing until 2002. I was pretty credit shy for a few years. The biggest problem I can foresee is if through some act of God if I manage to get those negs off, my file will be reduced to my first positive TL from 1998. My husband has the same problem. His file is much longer than mine (because he's older)- goes back to 1984. But, he has positives at places that have gone out of business and will soon hit the 10 year mark. He had a Joseph Spiess card and another card through someplace called "Credit First" that 10 years of positive history. Wish I could figure out who these "credit first" people are- he THINKS it was some sort of tire place- like Firestone or something similar. We need activity so they won't delete! Once those are gone, his history will be reduced to 1995!
Re: Re: CA TL hits 2 year mark +19 points Hi, I have one of those CFNB (Credit First National Bank) entries on my credit report too. Yes, they are the folks who originally issued the Firestone card; my starting credit limit was $300. I took it because they were giving a 10% discount on the tires and installation then, that's pretty serious money for me ($30) ...., and I prompty cancelled it later I think they were based in Cleveland, OH... -- lakpr
Re: Re: CA TL hits 2 year mark +19 points There are a few 18-19 year olds that post here. They aren't quite as vocal- they haven't screwed up their credit- they just want credit! lol But, yep, you're not the youngest
Re: Re: Re: CA TL hits 2 year mark +19 points I take it they are no longer the issuing bank for Firestone credit now then?
Re: Re: Re: Re: CA TL hits 2 year mark +19 points They still are; see the link below: https://secure.bridgestone.com/c5_creditapp.asp -- lakpr
