Long story short - I have convinced a CA to delete their tradeline from all credit bureau reports. In the letter, they "claim" it will take anywhere from 30-90 days. It sure didn't take them "30-90 days" to illegally add their negative information to my reports so I have no idea why they are saying this. What is the process a CA goes through to delete - does anyone know? I assume most times it's electronic tapes they send back and forth. Isn't their a way for a CA to do this quickly - with a call or some form they can complete and fax to the bureaus? Anyone know? If someone knows the correct terminology I can use in putting pressure on the CA to delete immediately rather than the 1-3 months they claim it takes I would appreciate it... Thx!
did they send you a letter explaining the intent to delete? if so you could foward a copy to the CRA .. that could speed things up,
Discover Card agreed to delete 2 30 day lates on my EX caused when I moved. In their letter they indicated the same thing that iit would be 30-90 days to update my file. I forwarded a copy of that letter to EX and my account was updated in less then a week. The key here is do you have it in writing?
Yes, it's in writing so that's what I'll do - I'll send the letter to the big 3 and that should speed it up. Thx for the feedback....
The process is that a reporter faxes a UDF (universal date form) to the cra. They are correct in that the cra's take 30 - 90 days to delete it if done that way. If you fax your letter to the cra's, as long as it is on their letterhead with a signature, it will be done within a few days.
