I have a RJM Acq account on EXP and TU. I disputed through the CRA's sometime back, and both Verified. So I send letter to RJM requesting validation, (not timely) and recieve no response for over 60 days. I again dispute with CRA's and both come back verified. The accounts are not marked as consumer disputes. Today I receive a letter from RJM... RJM Acq Llc is the owner of the referenced account. The following information was provided by the previous creditor and is maintained in our records. It lists a previous creditor - I don't know, a account number, date RJM purchased this account and a partial SS #. RJM has received a Consumer Dispute Verification inquiry from Experian... Accordingly we have responded to Experian..... If you disagree with what we are reporting on this account, or if you dispute all or any portion of this account, kindly write to us. ** When RJM reported this account, EXPERIAN told us that we must use (Date 00/00/00)the date RJM purchased this account as the opening date. So I already disputed this with RJM and told them it was not my account, 2 times already, and they have not sent me any information except this letter. And does Experian really tell CA's what dates to report? Any advice as to my next step ? Thanks in advance for reading my post.
I called Experian today and asked how they verified this account in 2 days, on the weekend none the less, they stated to me that the creditor responded. I asked them how because I have not been able to get the creditor to validate this account, and asked why the account was not marked in dispute by consumer. Experian stated to me that they need to dispute this a certain way. He told me that there was an inquiry on xx/xx/xx from a different CA, and asked me if I authorized this CA to check my credit. I said no. He deleted the inquiry. He asked me if I have ever lived or received mail at address XX and I said no. He said he was putting the address on notice, but it would not be removed until the tradeline was deleted. He said he re-submitted the dispute the proper way and I have to wait another 30 days for the results. Something sounds fishy here. Any thoughts....
The date RJM acquired the account is NOT the date that governs how long the account reports. If RJM does not have a correct DOFD and DOLA, they can't report the account, period. If they do have a correct DOFD and DOLA, they can report the account. But the date they acquired the account is neither of those key dates, and the use of the date RJM acquired the account is an FDCPA and FCRA violation, specifically it's re-aging.
This gets weird now: Two days after I received the above letter from RJM, I now receive a letter from a Island National Group, stating that RJM Acquisitions has hired Island National Group to collect on this account. So who should I go after now, or is it time to hire a lawyer. And if you do hire a lawyer, do they charge you a fee up front, or keep the money that they sue for. Thanks for reading my question.
JDBs often hire CAs to do their dirty work. go after whoever violates on whatever violations they commit.
