The Collection Agency (Allied Interstate) will not give me their mailing address. They'll only give me the account number and info. for payment over the phone like credit card payment or check by phone. I asked if I could mail a payment in and I was told NO! I think they believe that I'm going to dispute it. I am! lol!! Please advise? Is this any kink of violation??
Well they have a bunch of addresses--really too many to post. Go to www.collector.com click on rosters and Advanced Search. Call them back and ask them at least where you are calling, and then maybe you can determine the right address. Also, if its on your CR, call the CRA and ask them. Good luck!
You can get their addresses right off their website. The main office is in Omaha, NE and since they won't give you an address send it there and let them figure it out. And if they insist that you pay by phone that is going to cost you more money and it is a violation of law for them to do that too unless they pay the charges. What they will do is just add it into their interest charges so it looks like you didn't pay for the check by phone trip.
Next time they call, tell them that you do not have a checking account or credit card anymore, and that if they want money, you'll need an address. Also, record the phone call. If they give you the run-around, sue them violating the FDCPA.
Lol I called for fun and the lady said 'allied interstate illinois office can you please hold and she put me on hold. I just hung up. They only have one illinois office and here it is. Allied Interstate 2860 South River Rd Suite 170 Des Plaines, IL 60018 Ok I called back. Call me a glutton for punishment. I said I wanted to send out a dispute and I wanted to confirm the address. She said that is their location address but disputes go to their other office in new york. ALLIED INTERSTATE INC. 1979 Marcus Ave. Ste. 100 Lake Success, NY 11042 Local Phone Number: (800) 899-5056 Fax Number: (516) 437-5920
The way I see it is that the dispute goes to the office that sent the demand for payment. If they want to waste time sending it somewhere else that is their problem, not mine. In your case it was a phone call. They had only 5 days to get you a written demand for payment after they made that phone call. That's another violation. That's why what I teach does so well. It uses their own stupid inattention to the law to hang them with.
amen bill. I personally think the biggest mistake a CA makes is after you request validation they never seem to mark the account as under dispute on your credit report. They might as well paint a bullseye on their chest.
Re: Re: CA won't give me their addr LOL Quite so! I just wish that more people would understand that while credit repair does work it still don't get rid of the debt and that sometimes they really should take out their legal rifles and aim dead on for that bullseye.
Re: Re: CA won't give me their addr Is it for a student loan? I had them calling me a few years back, and at the time they were out of Minneapolis, MN. They have a web site as well. PolarisA3
Re: Re: CA won't give me their address OMG!! Lol! I can't believe I wrote that! I must have been drinking! Wait a sec - I don't drink!
Re: Re: CA won't give me their address Look at a Western Union wire form. It has a place to put the recipient's address. Tell the CA you need their address or you won't send money. You're just trying to be difficult here. Get some darn guts and demand that they give you an address. Geez, no wonder you're having debt troubles... you're spineless.
Re: Re: CA won't give me their address "I get FREE MONEY ORDERS at work...I need the address to send it to" "SORRY, I don't have a checking account so I can't do a check by phone"
Re: Re: CA won't give me their address too much- 1) he has already been given an address and 2)do you ever post anything here that even resembles help. All you do is shoot people down
Re: Re: CA won't give me their address He is used to the masochists that take the abuse they dish out on YM.
Re: Re: CA won't give me their address Get the CA's address from the CRA's if its showing on your report. T hen there is no question about where to send correspondence since the address was provided to the CRA for the explicit purpose of contacting the CA.
