Has anyone had a CA not pick up the certified return reciept requested mail? The CA list a PO Box, so i sent it. I figured they'd pull something. They are located locally in the same city. It only takes 1 day mail delivery. I know i'll probably get the letter back right? I have to let EQ know they refused to pick it up. Hell i know where they are located, should just drive up, knock on the door and throw in in their face!!!! but that defeats the CRRR purpose.. Man it pisses me of
When you take them to COURT...you MUST have the letter in it's ORIGINAL state...DON'T OPEN IT...DON'T REMOVE ANYTHING FROM IT LIKE STICKERS...
It will help you in your case...you tried to confirm that the debt was yours...or you were trying to pay them to settle it...but they REFUSED to accept the CRR envelope... Even if the envelope had PAYMENT IN FULL, they would still refuse it...BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THEY DO...
Send another one tomorrow to their physical address and mark it: "Attn: Accounts Receivable". They'll sign for that one. Dancer
George You're definetly right. I won't open it. I'll leave it in same state... Was kinda thinking of locating the physical address as Dancer indicated....still debating.. The CA is Federated Collection Bureau located in Norcross, GA...Checked BBB and they have multiple violations for none responses and etc... Looks like i'm in a battle Theses suckers have the nerve to charge interest that's grown higher than the bal.
Having the same problem with NCO. It's been over 10 days since the notice was placed in their PO Box (used signature confirmation, which tells the date it arrived in their city) and they still have not picked it up. Doubt they will...
If all else fails, use FedEx or UPS. To make it look real good, use one of their small boxes to mail your letter. Costs a bit more, but it would probably work.
A couple suggestions. First, many CA's, like IC Systems, have different boxes for validations than they do for payments. They don't pick up the letters from the validation box. Get the payment address and send it there. As was mentioned above, note on the envelope something like "attention accounts receivable". Second, there is another service offered by the post office, but I forget what it is called. Look for the bright, lime green forms in the post office. It allows you to track your letter online, and you can print out when the CA receives it. They do not have to sign for it. But, you do get proof it was delivered. It will help in court, especially when you show the certified mail was returned. It costs about $4 because they make you use priority mail ($3.50 for Priority, 40 cents for the service). Third, try Fax.
I'll try that... and the address i sent was the payment address, so i know they got it. I also disputed it with the CRA and watch they verify it, but yet won't accept the CRRR letter. I'm going to send a copy of the notice to each bureau showing eventhough they can verify with you, they won't validate with me....

Re: USPS Special Mailing Services jonesing, Sweettttttttt, looks like it's the lime green form for me now. Thanks
Re: USPS Special Mailing Services Yeah, I'm in a similar boat, a CA hasn't picked up their mail. But when it comes back, I can include a copy of the returned item with the second request and then mail it with a certificate of mailing and delivery confirmation. The COM isn't really needed but having it along with a copy of the new envelope shows that (a) I mailed them a letter (b) to the address shown on the copy of the envelope and (c)the post office delivered said item to the address on the copy of the envelope on XYZ date and therefore, Your Honor, the first item was returned to me not because I mailed it to the wrong address as they claim but because they refused to pick up their mail since the post office successfully delivered the my second request to them at the same address.
Re: USPS Special Mailing Services thanks Jonesing. Delivery confirmation is what I was thinking about. Just didn't know the name
Re: USPS Special Mailing Services How about sending your notice both regular and certified mail. Perhaps you can look on the web and find a different address for their customers. You also might want to try calling them and pretending you are a business with debts to place. Ask for their address. The Judge will not look kindly on them not picking up their mail.
