I received a call this morning (Sunday) at 7:56 am. I previously received a call at 7:33 am but was unable to answer it as it only rang twice before they hang up. I mentioned the FDCPA and acceptable times to call and she stated that it is different for each state. Is that correct? I can't find anything specific for Missouri.
She's wrong. That's another FDCPA violation for giving false and deceptive information. I hope you have a recorder.
One more quick question. I got another call from this same company (twice in one morning actually), and the man said that it's a federal matter (my student loan) so the FDCPA doesn't apply to them and then proceeded to argue with me. Does his argument hold any water? And they wonder why people don't like them...
