My wife and I are having a not so cordial discussion about what to do here. I sent a validation letter to the CA last week. It was signed for on 2/6/03. If we rec'd a phone message from them today, aren't they in violation of the FDCPA? Isn't this considered continued collections efforts even though he just stated his name and where he was from? My wife wants to call them and respond and I say why bother. They have not provided the answers for which we are looking (ie proper validation) and no conversation is going to produce anything positive. In fact, the we may tip our hand if we start spouting off about FDCPA violations and what not. Do we call him or not? Thanks.

Oh sigh, despite the fact that I firmly believe women are right 110% of time, IMHO, I'll give you this one.
    :)

Save the message for letter weaponry. NEVER NEVER call a CA - let them keep hanging themselves.

I'm with jlynn....you obviously have their attention so sit tight and see what happens...it's very hard to be patient but be strong! :)

There are only two times to call a CA
1* NEVER and 2* Last Month.
