I concur with everyone else who's posted their opinions regarding your "faith" in this approach... It's good that they've been able to "satisfy" your request...but, just wait before the "fat lady sings" (it shows on your report)... In addition, you may have been lucky with a decent creditor...let me see you try this with a company like Gulf States or First Bank of Marin... You need "traceability"...when push comes to shove... Lastly, don't you think some of the "veterans" tried your approach? Your first call may be a disaster if they prod you with questions that may cause further "injury"...better to keep your communications controlled with concise letters that get your point across. Unless you are really good at negotiations/arguments, I'd just write them. In any case, I wish you the best of luck with your method...
