O.k. I have time so I'm going to start my harassment on Ford Credit regarding this all of the sudden $462 balance they are reporting! It's 1:52pm PST. BRB...

    Update

Called (800) 727-2000 and was on hold for 5 minutes. They instructed me to call the National Recovery number (800) 732-2264. I called and was on hold for a short period and then spoke with a real nice lady. I expressed urgency in my matter (told her this was messing up my mortgage! LOL...) and she said that she would update the bureaus to show a zero balance. I asked her if she could fax a letter and mail one to my house. She said no problem. I didn't even bother getting into the other things (i.e. charged off account, lates, etc.). I figured I would start small and then work my way up later. I did get some disappointing news though. I asked her if this should even be reporting on my reports (account was opened in 2/95) and she said that the date of last activity was in 99 so it will remain on there until 2006! I knew this....but I was hoping she knew nothing about the credit reporting times, etc. OH well....at least now it will be back to showing a zero balance.

The time now is 2:14pm. That wasn't too bad...

It's all step-by-step, right? At least you are making progress! :)

Yeah....well I had to get that changed to a zero balance. It's bad enough they are reporting the account as charged off (long story...I was a cosigner but the account shouldn't of been charged off...it was in dispute).

Just checked my fax machine and they sent a fax stating that my account balance is $0 as of 2/15/00. I have no clue where they got that date from.

What should I do with the letter? Should I send it to the CRAs???? Will they accept it? Or should I just want and see if they update the account?
