I'm trying to help my son. He has 3 CC's from college he is trying to fix. Apparently they are written off. Sherman bought one and he mistakenly paid them the settlement and did not negotiate what would be put on his credit report. Now he has spoken with the other two collections agencies who bought the CC debt within the last 6 mths. Can he send validations letters to them or is it too late since he has spoken with them about the debt. He is actually about to pay someone who is charging him to dispute the debt to the CB??? I assume they will contact the CAs. Will the CB accept any lame validation the CAs come up with? I think he should start with a validation letter to the CAs. Paying someone is stupid to me when Creditnet is available....but he thinks he cannot validate the debt since he has already spoken with the CAs about the two debts. Comments????
